Taboo Tuesday 2005

1. Matt Hardy + Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Masters + Snitsky by pinfall

This was a good opener and the crowd was extremely into it, making it all the better. There were a few sloppy spots, but overall it served it's purpose.

Rating: 2.75 (out of 5)

2. Eugene + Jimmy Snuka defeated Rob Conway + Tomko by pinfall

This was garbage, as expected.

Rating: .5

3. Mankind defeated Carlito by pinfall

This is one of the few victories Foley has had since he came back from retirement. Unfortunately, it meant nothing.

Rating: 2.25

4. Kane + Big Show defeated Cade + Murdoch by pinfall to win the Tag Team Championships

This was better than it had any right to be, but you won't mistake this one for a classic any time soon.

Rating: 2.25

5. Batista defeated Jonathan Coachman by pinfall

This was supposed to be Steve Austin, but the result wouldn't have been any better. Stupid.

Rating: 0

6. Trish Stratus won a battle royal

This could have been a whole lot worse. The ending kept the Mickie/Trish story going and that was it's purpose.

Rating: .75

7. Ric Flair defeated Triple H by escape in a Steel Cage Match

This was good, just not as good as most people hyped it up as. This was most definitely a throwback to the old NWA type matches of the 80s. Good emotion in this one from both performers.

Rating: 3.5

8. John Cena defeated Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle by pinfall

***Match Of The Night***

This is one of the most underrated matches of the decade. This was great stuff and the crowd was super hot all the way through. This was right around the peak of "Cena Sucks" and it always made for a great atmosphere. Very good match.

Rating: 4.25

Well, the last hour is well worth your time. The rest is very skippable and some of it is just flat out bad. However, when you have a main event on that level, the show is usually worth checking out, especially since it doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Overall Rating: 75%
