1. The Steiner Brothers defeated The Beverly Brothers by pinfall
This was quite disappointing, considering both teams are pretty solid. The Steiners run in WWF was very forgettable.

2. Shawn Michaels defeated Marty Jannetty by pinfall
This was another disappointing match. This was good, but I was expecting a classic.
Rating: 2.75
3. Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Big Boss Man by pinfall
Man, was this bad. Boss Man was on his way out and he looked like it. Why this was 10 minutes long is beyond me?
Rating: .25
4. Bret Hart defeated Razor Ramon by submission
***Match Of The Night***
Bret was most definitely the man at this point. He could have a good match with anyone and Razor was no exception.
Rating: 3.5
5. Yokozuna won the Royal Rumble
This was a fun Rumble, but most definitely not one of the best. It seemed kind of predictable that Yokozuna was going to win.
Rating: 3
This is what I would call an average show. The Rumble itself is always fun and Bret put on a good showing. The tag match and Intercontinental match were disappointing and the other match was just horrible. This show is definitely worth watching, especially for Bret fans and Rumble fans, but nothing worth rushing out to see.

One Night Stand 2008
1. Jeff Hardy defeated Umaga by pinfall
I liked this match better upon second viewing. It started off being a fun little brawl, but the ending just comes off a little too planned and fake.
Rating: 2.25 (out of 5)
2. Big Show defeated John Morrison, Chavo Guerrero, CM Punk, and Tommy Dreamer by pinfall
Call me crazy, but I thought this was a really good match. All five men put in a real solid effort and it came across as a good, violent match.
Rating: 3.5
3. John Cena defeated JBL by JBL bleeding first
This was more entertaining than their Judgment Day match, but first blood matches are definitely not the most exciting specialty matches. The endings never are exciting and this one was no different. However, this was solid and JBL came across as an effective heel.
Rating: 2.75
4. Beth Phoenix defeated Melina by submission
The crowd didn't care too much, but this was some solid action. Melina is probably the most entertaining diva other than Mickie James and it's a shame she got injured.
Rating: 2
5. Batista defeated Shawn Michaels in a Stretcher Match
This was a little bit more story than match, but that's okay since this is one of the best storylines in WWE history. It's amazing that at this point of his career, Shawn Michaels is still the best.
Rating: 3.5
6. Triple H defeated Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match
It's always hard to rate a match where one of the competitors gets injured. The entire ending was changed on the fly due to Orton's broken collarbone, so we only got to see about half of a match. Things were going pretty well, but not as good as their No Mercy 2007 match.
Rating: 2
7. Edge defeated Undertaker to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a TLC Match
***Match Of The Night***
The criticism on this match is that they just set up spots as opposed to having a match that featured spots. That is definitely true to a point, but these guys also put on a heck of a show. The match was brutal and intense and both performers did a great job of portraying the hatred that they have for one another.
Rating: 4
This was another good show for the WWE in 2008. The nice thing on this show was that there was nothing that was terrible. Everything was watchable and most of it was darn entertaining. This was a big improvement over the 2007 version and a show worth purchasing on DVD.

Royal Rumble 1992
1. The New Foundation defeated The Orient Express by pinfall
***Match Of The Night***
Terrific opener between two teams that never really amounted to much in the WWF, which is a shame. This is a good opening match and it's too bad we don't see too many of those any more.
Rating: 3.75
2. Roddy Piper defeated The Mountie by submission to win the Intercontinental Championship
Not really much of a match, but a good moment nonetheless. Piper would then go on to probably the best match of his career at WrestleMania.
Rating: .5
3. The Beverly Brothers defeated The Bushwackers by pinfall
This was a comedy match, as you may have expected, but for some reason was about 15 minutes long. Had it been about 5, it would have been fine, but it dragged big time.
Rating: .5
4. The Natural Disasters defeated Legion Of Doom by countout
This match probably should have had a clean finish, but I guess both teams needed to look strong. Typical LOD match.
Rating: .75
5. Royal Rumble - Winner Ric Flair
Most seem to think that this is the best rumble ever and I really just don't see it. Ric Flair put on a heck of a show, but I feel that the supporting stories were weak. Kind of like a lot of Johnny Depp movies.
Rating: 3.5
Well, there are definitely some good highlights here. You have both Piper and Flair's best WWF moments, but you also have a few matches thare are pretty bad. However, the Rumble takes up the majority of the time and that was good, so that makes this an easy thumbs up. Plus the Foundation/Express match is good stuff as well. Good show.

Survivor Series 1992
1. The Headshrinkers defeated High Energy by pinfall

8. Bret Hart defeated Shawn Michaels by submission
***Match Of The Night***
This was a very good match and just a hint of things to come between these two. Good ending to a decent show.
Rating: 3.5
This really is a typical show from this era. A few good matches, a few squashes, and a few matches that should have never happened. Historically it's significant because it is Bret Hart's first world title defense on a pay-per-view and Shawn Michaels first headlining pay-per-view. I give this one a slight thumbs up.

6. Ultimate Warrior defeated Randy Savage by countout

WrestleMania VII

I like this show a lot. Yes, it was the first pay-per-view I ever ordered, but it is a good show, especially for the time period. Still, there were a lot of great moments that make this show very memorable.

SummerSlam 1990
1. Power and Glory defeated The Rockers by pinfall
This was actually a very fun match, despite Shawn Michaels not being involved at all. The crowd was super hot and the action was spirited. Good opener.
Rating: 3 (out of 5)
2. Texas Tornado defeated Mr. Perfect by pinfall to win the Intercontinental Championship
The match was very similar to the Demolition/Colossal Connection match at WrestleMania VI. Not a great match, great moment.
Rating: 1.5
3. The Warlord defeated Tito Santana by pinfall
Poor Tito. Such a good worker, yet he never won.
Rating: .75
4. The Hart Foundation defeated Demoltion by pinfall to win the Tag Team Championships
***Match Of The Night***
This was a good match and it seems like the tag teams in this era always put on the best matches.
Rating: 3.25
5. Jake Roberts defeated Bad News Brown by disqualification
Snakes vs. sewer rats. Yeah, this was bad.
Rating: .25
6. Jim Duggan and Nikolai Volkoff defeated The Orient Express by pinfall
This was a Superstars quality squash.
Rating: .5
7. Randy Savage defeated Dusty Rhodes by pinfall
The storyline with Sapphire overshadowed this match. Only in 1990 would these two have a match that lasted 4 minutes.
Rating: .5
8. Hulk Hogan defeated Earthquake by countout
Since when is Hogan happy with winning by countout? Stupid.
Rating: .5
9. Ultimate Warrior defeated Rick Rude by escape
This was pretty good, but it didn't have that big match feel. It was better than I remember though.
Rating: 1.75
This was the first pay-per-view I ever saw back when I didn't even know what wrestling was, so that alone gives me a little more reason to like this show. There are two good matches here, but the middle of the show is pretty bad. Still, it is worth watching if you like this time period.

WrestleMania VI
1. Rick Martel defeated Koko B. Ware by pinfall
Nothing special, but not bad either. It would have been nice to see Martel have a match against a more legit competitor, however.
Rating: 1 (out of 5)
2. Demolition defeated The Colossal Connection by pinfall to win the Tag Team Championships
The match itself is nothing to write home about, but the pop from the crowd when Demolition wins is priceless. Awesome moment.
Rating: .75
3. Earthquake defeated Hercules by pinfall
I don't think anyone in the building thought Herc had a chance. Next.
Rating: .5
4. Brutus Beefcake defeated Mr. Perfect by pinfall
Why? Why would Beefcake ever beat Mr. Perfect? I guess that's the benefit of being friends with Hogan.
Rating: 1.5
5. Roddy Piper and Bad News Brown wrestled to a double countout
Put this in the forgettable department.
Rating: .75
6. The Hart Foundation defeated The Bolsheviks by pinfall
This was just a squash.
Rating: .25
7. Barbarian defeated Tito Santana by pinfall
Not too bad, but there was no heat or real story being told.
Rating: .75
8. Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire defeated Randy Savage and Sherri by pinfall
These guys were capable of so much more than what we have here. This was pretty brutal.
Rating: .25
9. The Orient Express defeated The Rockers by countout
This is honestly the only match I ever remember The Orient Express winning. Of course it was against my favorite tag team.
Rating: 2
10. Jim Duggan defeated Dino Bravo by pinfall
Typical 5 minute Duggan match. Next.
Rating: .5
11. Ted Dibiase defeated Jake Roberts by pinfall
This felt like it should have been better. Things were going well and then it kind of fell apart.
Rating: 1.25
12. Big Boss Man defeated Akeem by pinfall
This was when Boss Man moved to the upper mid-card. Other than that, it was a squash.
Rating: .25
13. Rick Rude defeated Jimmy Snuka by pinfall
This match should have gotten a few more minutes. Although, with the time they were given, it still wasn't that great.
Rating: .75
14. Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan by pin to win the WWF Championship
***Match Of The Night***
This match is not great because of the action, but more so due to the fact that you really had no idea who was going to win. These two egomaniacs put on a pretty good match that will be remembered because of the hot crowd and surprise ending.
Rating: 2.75
Overall, this show is just overwhelming. However, none of the matches are long enough to be horrible, so it never really feels boring. If you were a fan of this era, you might like this show, but if not, don't bother checking out anything but the main event.

SummerSlam 1989
1. The Brain Busters defeated the Hart Foundation by pinfall
***Match Of The Night***
This was a great opener for the show. I'm kind of surprised the Busters got the win in a non-title match, which makes you wonder why they didn't just put the titles on the line. Oh well. It was good stuff.
Rating: 3.75
2. Dusty Rhodes defeated Honky Tonk Man by pinfall
They seemed to try and make this a classic except it was very basic and dull, leaving the crowd bored in the end.
Rating: .5
3. Mr. Perfect defeated Red Rooster by pinfall
This probably would have been a good match, except Rooster got hurt and they had to end it abruptly. Too bad, it could have been pretty good.
Rating: .25
4. Rick Martel and The Rougeaus defeated Tito Santana and The Rockers
This was a fun match and actually better than I remembered. Looking at who was involved, they would have really had to have been off to make this match bad.
Rating: 3.5
5. Ultimate Warrior defeated Rick Rude to win the Intercontinental Championship
This was a big step up from their WrestleMania match. Both guys were feeling it and it made for a good match.
Rating: 2.75
6. Jim Duggan and Demolition defeated Andre The Giant and The Twin Towers by pinfall
Considering who was involved, this was a fun match. It's kind of odd that they put on two 6 man tag matches.
Rating: 1
7. Hercules defeated Greg Valentine by disqualification
This was pretty much just to set up the Ronnie Garvin/Valentine feud. Hercules is one of those guys that no one mentions anymore. Not hard to see why.
Rating: .5
8. Ted Dibiase defeated Jimmy Snuka by countout
This was a disappointing match. I really thought this could have been good, yet there was nothing to it.
Rating: .75
9. Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake defeated Randy Savage and Zeus
Three of these guys are guys who are awful wrestlers. Yet, every once in awhile, if everything is in place, even the worst performers can pull off good matches. This was pretty good.
Rating: 2
I would say that this was a step up from the previous SummerSlam and overall a good show. It lost some steam at the end, which is never a good thing, but the main event provided some entertaining moments.

WrestleMania V
1. Hercules defeated King Haku by pinfall
This is not exactly a match I would pick to open my biggest show of the year. I've always liked Haku, but this is not a good match.
Rating: .25 (out of 5)
2. The Twin Towers defeated The Rockers by pinfall
***Match Of The Night***
This was a real fun match and probably the match the crowd was most into, outside of the main event. Unfortunately, this was the highlight of the night, at least in my opinion.
Rating: 2.75
3. Brutus Beefcake and Ted Dibiase wrestled to a double countout
The crowd was absolutely silent throughout this match and it stunk. Why are there so many non-finishes on this show? Would it have really killed them to put Dibiase over fricken Beefcake?
Rating: .5
4. The Bushwackers defeated The Rougeaus by pinfall
All I can say is, why?
Rating: .25
5. Mr. Perfect defeated Blue Blazer by pinfall
This is one that you wish could have gone just a little bit longer, because it felt like they were just getting going. Two great wrestlers, may they rest in peace.
Rating: 2.25
6. Demolition defeated The Powers Of Pain and Mr. Fuji by pinfall
Two teams that looked tough, but only one was good. This was just kind of blah.
Rating: .5
7. Dino Bravo defeated Ronnie Garvin
Another match the crowd didn't really care about. This definitely is one of the worst crowds in WrestleMania history.
Rating: .75
8. The Brain Busters defeated Strike Force by pinfall

Rating: 2
9. Jake Roberts defeated Andre The Giant by disqualification
This match is bad. Like Giant Gonzales/Undertaker bad.
Rating: 0
10. The Hart Foundation defeated Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine by pinfall
This was okay, but I would have much rather have seen the Harts take on someone else. Or at least give Valentine a different partner.
Rating: 2
11. Rick Rude defeated Ultimate Warrior by pinfall to win the Intercontinental Championship
This was memorable more because it was kind of shocking that Rude won, not because it was a great match. Their match at SummerSlam would be much better.
Rating: 1.5
12. Jim Duggan and Bad News Brown wrestled to a double disqualification
This was just an excuse to get both guys on the card and have a no finish.
Rating: .25
13. Red Rooster defeated Bobby Heenan by pinfall
I still don't understand how the Rooster wasn't huge.
Rating: .25
14. Hulk Hogan defeated Randy Savage by pinfall to win the WWF Championship
This was a solid match that felt important. Hogan gave one of his better efforts and Savage was his usual stellar self. I just don't think it's anywhere near as good as everyone else seems to think.
Rating: 2.25
This was definitely a step up from the previous year's WrestleMania. However, there are still too many matches and not enough good ones to really make this a "great" show. It is still worth a look, just get ready to fast forward through a lot of the matches.
