WrestleMania VIII

1. Shawn Michaels defeated Tito Santana by pinfall

This was a decent opener, but I can't help but feel that this could have been better. Still, this was a fun opener.

Rating: 2.75 (out of 5)

2. Undertaker defeated Jake Roberts by pinfall

I remember being very excited for this match as a kid and it's kind of a shame that the Undertaker was so limited at this point. He had to keep everything at a slow pace and it hurt this match.

Rating: .75

3. Bret Hart defeated Roddy Piper by pinfall to win the Intercontinental Championship

This was a great match. Bret Hart was probably the best wrestler in the world at this point in time. Yes, better than Ric Flair.

Rating: 4

4. Virgil, Sgt. Slaughter, Jim Duggan, and Big Boss Man defeated The Nasty Boys, Mountie, and Repo Man by pinfall

This is the very definition of a trainwreck and considering who was involved, it's no surprise how sloppy this match was. It wasn't horrible, but far from crisp.

Rating: .75

5. Randy Savage defeated Ric Flair by pinfall to win the WWF Championship

***Match Of The Night***

It's really a shame that this wasn't the last match because it would end up hurting my overall opinion of this show. However, this match was fantastic and I think it is overlooked by many when they think of Flair's best matches.

Rating: 4.5

6. Tatanka defeated Rick Martel by pinfall

This match was solid but lacked the emotion to make this more than just okay. Martel is always entertaining.

Rating: 1.5

7. The Natural Disasters defeated Money Inc. by countout

Not a big fan of countout matches on big shows, especially when it's a title match. The crowd was dead for this one.

Rating: 1

8. Owen Hart defeated Skinner by pinfall

I'm still not sure why they only gave this one a little over a minute. I'm still not sure why this was on the card either.

Rating: .25

9. Hulk Hogan defeated Sid Justice by pinfall

This was pretty bad and most likely the worst main event in WrestleMania history up to this point. The Warrior coming to make the save at the end makes this at least historic in a way, but it's still not good.

Rating: .5

Like I said, the Savage/Flair match should have been last. Had it been, it would have left a better taste in my mouth. But either way, there were two great matches on this card, making it an automatic thumbs up.

Overall Rating: 80%
